Who Am I This Time?

In May the Senior Acting class and I went to St. George’s in Vancouver for the annual drama festival to perform our play Who Am I This Time? directed by Mrs. Quinton. We left the school and met up with Ferdinand S and Meril MH from the senior rugby team, as well as meeting Julie S and Alexis C who joined us from University tours, so it was a typical Brentwood tripartite schedule.  After enjoying a burger at a Chinese cafe, we went on to St. George’s to watch the first night of plays. The standards were set high, so we headed back to our hotel to get our beauty sleep. We woke up to a continental breakfast that served microwavable apple strudels and pre-packed cereals, and we had a long day ahead of us.  We then had an hour-long rehearsal, and to ensure she got the best of our abilities, Mrs. Quinton confiscated our phones. This was a sacrifice for some, but we pulled through as a team. After a few more hour-long rehearsals, it was time to put on the play: finally it was Friday night.  We took it as our responsibility to lighten up the mood. Our romance comedy by Kurt Vonnegut really did that.  The rugby boys, busy as they are, had to leave right away after the performance. The rest of us stayed around and had a fun time meeting with the other actors. It was a great experience and I can’t wait to see who I will be next time. Antony VC, Rogers ‘17
