Whittall/Alex Bullish at Interhouse Tennis
The Whittall boys and the Alex girls charged their way through the opposition at the recent Interhouse tennis competition. Their combinations were unbeaten against all challengers. The race for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th was much closer with the final placings being decided with the last match. Ellis/Mack took on Privett/Hope in the final, pivotal match. Win 7 sets to 0 and Ellis/Mack would take 2nd place – lose even 1 set and 2nd place would belong to Rogers/Allard.
A number of sets were decided by one game, but with the last ball struck, the green machine from Ellis/Mack had managed to win all seven matches and snatch 2nd place from the distraught orange men and women.
The weather was perfect and the tennis – although not perfect – was fun to watch. The final standings were:
First Whittall/Alex
Second Ellis/Mack
Third Rogers/Allard
Fourth Privett/Hope
