What it Means to Me to Be in Privett

31 August 2018

As a Privetteer for three years, I have come to learn just what this amazing house is truly all about: trust, brotherhood, and pride. It is referred to by many as a second home and Privett has given me and countless other boys opportunities, structure, and social skills that simply could not be replicated anywhere.  The inclusive love and respect that radiates through the halls has baffled me ever since I first arrived here in Grade 9. Nowhere else can you find 60 teenage boys living in harmony, helping one another to achieve their best, most successful self. It is this cooperation with others, combined with a strong sense of independence, that teaches us how to work with, and for, other people.  This puts us at a significant advantage when we enter the world’s workforce. With strong, charismatic leaders such as Mr Neufeld, Mr Doehler, Mr Rodrigues, the Dutystaff, and the enthusiastic RFAs, it is no wonder that the people who come through Privett enter as boys, but leave as fine young men.  Scott J, Privett ‘19
