Brentwood’s production of West Side Story launched it’s week-long run on the boards of the Killy Theatre last night to an enthusiastic audience. Inspired by Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, the musical tells a tragic tale of intolerance and transformative love in 1950s New York. The production is led once again by the expert team of Director & Producer Edna Widenmaier, Musical Director Phil Newns, Choreographer Lorraine Blake, Fight Coordinator Matthew Howe, Costume Designer Sally Smith, Technical Director Don Armitage & Set Designer James O’Leary. And if I don’t give a well-deserved tip of the hat to the behind-the-scenes Theatre Production team of students, Nouhad W, Allard ‘19 will probably never speak to me again. The cast is a lively and talented team of tripartite students I more frequently see in the classroom, rugby pitch, hockey rink or dance studio. But they certainly are at home in the Bunch! They are are sure to entertain you if you can get a seat.  The musical runs Feb. 27, 28 and March 1 & 2 at 7:30 with a matinee on the 2nd at 2:30.
