West Coast Concert Choir Festival 1

5 April 2017
Mr. Phil Newns
Amongst April showers comes the West Coast Concert Choir Festival, hosted for the first time by Brentwood College. Taking place in the T. Gil Bunch Centre for the Performing Arts April 21st-22nd, this festival marks a first for Brentwood. It is our hope that this will become an annual event as students from near and far visit us for our beautiful environs, state-of-the art facilities and vocal workshops. We have two full mornings of choral music for your enjoyment, featuring a diverse selection of choirs from Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. We are also very fortunate to have two highly esteemed adjudicators at our festival: Dr. Adam Jonathan Con of the University of Victoria and Brian Wismath, Music Director of the Victoria Choral Society, the Victoria Conservatory of Music Chorale, Vox Humana Chamber Choir, and others. This festival is affiliated with MusicFest Canada and participating choirs may be eligible to attend the Musicfest Canada National Festival on the recommendation of our adjudicators. Performances will begin at 10:00 a.m. and will be concluded by 11:45 AM. Brentwood’s Vocal Ensemble will perform at 11:15 AM on Saturday the 22nd. Admission is free. If you are in the area, we hope you will support all our choirs by attending. By supporting the festival, we are confident that it will be a tradition that continues for many years to come at Brentwood and in the Cowichan Valley. Co-Chairs, Phil Newns & Tristan Clausen
