No more waiting Brentonians, Midterm Break is finally here! November 11th marks the first Midterm Break of the 21/22 school year and students are looking forward to resting and enjoying time with their family or host families.

This break came as a delight to many Brentwood students after diving head first into the start of the school year. It is always wonderful to be able to take a step back for a week. For most boarders this is the first time they will go home since arriving in September, while others will enjoy their time with friends as they head out for the break.

Additional activities include the action-packed trip to Victoria the school offers for students who aren’t able to travel back home. The Victoria Whale Watching & Foodie Trip is “for students who want to have a break from their studies and enjoy an amazing experience whale watching and tasting culinary delights” describes organizer, Mr Lee. We look forward to seeing highlights on the school’s Instagram page!

Midterm Break also marks an amazing achievement for our new students, as they have endured ten weeks of the Brentwood madness! They’ve experienced their first brunch, Thanksgiving Dinner, and Airband among many other interhouse events, Open Houses and competitive sports; new students are settling in and shaking off the new school nerves.

After the break, students will continue to have many things to look forward to as Brentwood embraces the holiday spirit. Winter is just around the corner: our campus will soon turn into a winter wonderland as Snowball will give students a chance to “meet new people in an environment where everyone feels welcome” comments Phillip A, Rogers ‘22, Grad President. Also, as soccer and volleyball seasons come to an end, basketball and ice hockey competitive season ramps up, ultimately leading to the end of the term.

The future looks bright for this school year, but for now, students and staff will sit back and reflect on the lovely fall term that is approaching its end.

Wishing everyone a restful break!
