We are the champions!
The Brentwood College 1st XV have won the Provincial Championship Rugby tournament and are the 2008 champions! Behind a rock-solid defence, that has given up only 6 points in the last 5 games, our lads powered home to a 43-3 win over Robert Bateman High School from Abotsford. Again, Mike Shenker unlocked the scoring with another beautiful try in the corner. Unlike the semi-final, however, this time the opening shot was fired in the first 2 minutes of the game. From then on, Brentwood dominated their opposition comprehensively. The team scored through the forwards with beautifully manoeuvered mauls, powerful runs, and excellent tight play. They also scored through brilliant backline play that proved to be unstoppable. The guile and finesse of our boys proved too much for their opponents on the day and, were it not for a few miscues, the score could have been much heavier for Robert Bateman. On behalf of the coaching staff of the 1st and 2nd XV teams, I would like express how proud we are of all of the boys. Well done!
