Volleyball Opens Season at Dover Bay

The high school volleyball season has arrived in true fast and furious form. With tryouts still dominating our training sessions, the Varsity Girls traveled to Nanaimo where we competed in a two day, seven match opening season tournament.  With 16 teams competing in a “playday” format (no playoffs), it was the perfect opportunity to see some of our new players in some pressure situations. The team completed a near-perfect weekend, finishing with six wins and one loss. Our only defeat of the tournament was a tight 2-1 result against AAA powerhouse Little Flower Academy from Vancouver.  There were many bright lights and shining moments and we look forward to building on the momentum we gained during this busy opening weekend.
