Twelve students along with Mr. & Mrs. Rodrigues are eagerly preparing for the Eastern Canadian Universities Tour running over midterm. The group will depart from Brentwood on Wednesday afternoon for Toronto to begin an incredible journey through many of the best universities this country has to offer. In the course of six days, the group will visit 15 universities! Spending two nights in Toronto, they will hit the Universities of Toronto, Waterloo, Western Ontario and Guelph, along with Brock and McMaster. Then it's on to Halifax where Acadia, Dalhousie and Saint Mary's are the highlights. Then on a bus, heading out to St. Francis Xavier and Mount Allison in rural Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. Then, a very special train ride, overnight in sleeper cars, to Montreal where they will visit McGill and Concordia. On to Ottawa for Carleton, then to Kingston to see Queen's before the long flight home to Mill Bay. A whirlwind tour, but a fun, exciting and fulfilling one, to be sure. One of the best parts of the experience will be all of the Old Brentonians the group will meet along the way. In fact, there are Brentonians at 14 of the 15 universities that are visited, totalling well over 80 graduates of Brentwood College! It is those connections with former Brentwood students that will allow the current Grade 12 students on the tour to develop a real understanding of that all important transition from our quiet campus in Mill Bay to university life.
