Undefeated: Brentwood Hockey Begins Season on the Right Skate

Thursday, December 16, 2010 -

Brentwood’s 2010-2011 hockey program, with 43 skaters making up 3 teams, two senior and one junior, has had a promising start to the season. This is the first time that Brentwood has attempted to ice three teams and so far the concept is working well. With three teams every player is getting a lot more playing time than in years past.
The Senior A team with a 7-5 win over Shawnigan and a 8-1 win over Chemainus has led the way. The Sr B team in an inspiring effort, also tied the Shawnigan A team 2-2. Not to be outdone by their elders, the Juniors earned a 6-5 victory over Lake Cowichan.

The coaches are very pleased with the effort of all the athletes, and this intensity was never more evident than in the very closely contested RED & WHITE intra-squad game this past Tuesday, when the REDs emerged victorious with a 3-2 win.

Though the program doesn’t hit the ice again until the first week back in January, Mr. Flynn has instructed his athletes to be sure that they watch the northeast leading Montreal Canadiens to “learn from the best”. Anyone caught watching the Toronto Maple Leafs is likely to be found riding the pine when the season resumes in the new year.
