Two Positive Wins for Brentwood Tennis

This past Tuesday, the Brentwood Senior Tennis team travelled to Arbutus Ridge to finish off their League game with Shawnigan Lake School. To avoid any weather conflicts, the tennis bubble was the best option. As we had limited time on the courts, both league games were shortened to seven games, which excluded the crossovers.

As last week’s league game was postponed due to the hail, we had to finish off those games. The mixed doubles pair of Andjela S and Conrad A (6-0) helped Brentwood take the league match 5-2. Other games were won 6-0 by our girls’ doubles team of Mariana P and Tara V, girls’ single Andjela S and boys’ single Conrad A. The doubles team of Amanda M and Kirsty M won their match 6-2.

On Thursday, our girls’ doubles, Mariana P and Kelly R, and boys’ doubles team of Andrew L and Raffy G came away with 6-1 wins. Again, our two dominant single players, Andjela S and Conrad A won 6-0, wrapping up the league game with a 6-0 win in mixed doubles. The team’s tremendous play resulted in another 5-2 win in league play.

This Friday and Saturday will feature the 2nd annual Franco Biondo Memorial Tennis Tournament put on at SLS. Claremont and Terry Fox will also be there. We will have two games on Friday, and one on Saturday. Our first game starts at 11:00 am on Friday.
