Training With Green Lake
Last weekend, eighteen Green Lake Crew rowers came up from Seattle for a fun weekend of intense training and friendly competition at Brentwood. The rowers attended a total of four on-water practices in the hot October sun.
The Brentwood and Green Lake crew members had a chance to bond as they were shown the lively and hectic school days and had the opportunity to dance the night away at Rogers Open House on Saturday night.
For the final Sunday morning practice in the scorching hot sun, Shawnigan Lake School brought two of their crews ready for battle and prepared themselves to be assiduous with every stroke taken. During each of the six hard pieces, all crews fought for every inch to get their bow ball out in front. The environment was electrifying as every rower put everything on the line and created an amazing competition. On the water everyone had produced hard work and determination, while having gleaming smiles and friendly banter on land.
After the extraordinary practice, all the rowers joined together to feast on a delectable Sunday brunch at Crooks Hall. Once everyone had stuffed themselves with blueberry pancakes, it was time to send Green Lake back home to Seattle.
Thank you all for the intense racing last weekend, and we can't wait to see our Seattle friends at Head of the Lake in November!
