The month of May has been an extraordinarily busy time for our Brentwood athletes and their efforts have resulted in some outstanding performances. Our tennis team competed at the Island Championship where they finished 4th. Our golf team had an excellent finish to the year playing some impressive rounds at the Island Championship and earning a wildcard berth to provincials. Our soccer program had a terrific spring. The senior girls finished off a very strong season by qualifying for the Island Championship while our junior girls also managed to earn a berth to Islands by winning their Mid-Island league for the second year in a row.   The senior boys’ rugby team advanced to the provincials and looked strong in the first round with an impressive 52-16 win over Glenlyon Norfolk. The team advanced to the quarter finals but not without cost as they lost a handful of players to injury. The team battled hard but eventually came up short against a tough side from Hugh McRoberts. Our girls’ rugby team capped off an impressive season with a strong showing at the Provincial Championships. The girls lost a very tightly contested affair to eventual champion Abbotsford in a 12-10 semi-final thriller and then showed a great deal of character and resilience by responding with an impressive win over Shawnigan Lake School to capture a well-deserved provincial bronze medal. 50 of our rowers are currently at the CSSRA national championships in St. Catharines where they will race Friday through Sunday, June 6-8, for Canadian titles.
