Time for 3rd Term … Time for Tennis!!

The time when snow slowly melts and Helios peaks between the moody clouds is when the students know third-term sports have ascended upon the Brentwood Campus. The competitive spirits of the tennis players that have been growing in the Arbutus Ridge dome all year finally has the chance in the beautiful springtime spotlight.
“Everyone is so excited to be back on the court after such a long, cold winter and the varsity team can’t wait to try and improve on our 2nd place finish at Provincials last year” comments Ian C, Rogers ‘23.
Tennis at Brentwood is a hugely popular sport offered year-round at the beginner, intermediate, and varsity levels. The program is designed to meet the needs of all levels on the court– advanced competitive players, intermediate recreational players, and new players looking for a novel passion and eagerness to learn the game.
As an intermediate recreational player myself, I have been so grateful for the training offered on the court. This has consisted of skills training, king-of-the-court matches, and doubles matches. “I am looking forward to seeing everyone improve. We have a pretty large group this year, approximately 118 students playing tennis and lots of beginners so yeah it'll be a good time for everyone.” Coach Conrad describes.
“My experience at Brentwood would not have been the same if I hadn’t joined the tennis team. Some of the best friends I’ve made, some of my happiest memories, and mental battles I’ve struggled with have taken place on the Brentwood tennis courts” Sarah O, Hope ‘23 shares. “I can truly say in confidence that tennis has helped me through Brentwood craziness and I am so grateful to be able to play the sport all year round!”
The weather has always been a deciding factor for whether or not the courts will be available for play but so far we have only had one rainy day. This has lifted everyone's hopes and spirits for a warm and sunny spring term.
Ultimately, as a senior student at Brentwood, I may not ever get the same time with friends on the tennis court again. I could not have wished for a better way to end off my last spring term of four years here.
