Threepeat Island Champions

The Senior Boys Basketball team captured it third consecutive Islands AA Championship in a nail-biting 72-70 victory over SMUS last Saturday night. After defeating Timberline and Lambrick Park in the early rounds, the lads traded baskets with their Victoria rivals right down to the final buzzer. Ian G, Rogers ‘19 was named Tournament MVP while Juan NP, Whittall ‘20 earned Finals MVP and Shaw B, Ellis ‘21 Top Defensive Player. This team is remarkable for its regenerative powers. The team had to start from scratch this fall as all five starters from the 2017-2018 season graduated. Four of these grads are currently playing Canadian University Basketball: Bruno Chan - Queens, Brenda Sullivan & Nathan Pasloske - Thompson Rivers, & Somto Dimanochie - York. The boys head to the Provincial Championships at the Langley Events Centre March 6-9.
