There's Something Fishy Going On Here

AP Environmental Science students recently helped set up a greenhouse from recycled materials to grow vegetables over the winter months.  A solar array powers the battery that pumps water in every day from a pond which houses fish. Waste from the fish is transformed into nutrients by bacteria in the growing beds. Plants absorb these nutrients, use them for growth, and effectively clean the water that gets returned to the pond.  Former Brentwood parent and Cross Country coach Rob rose has been instrumental in guiding the project which is a step towards creating a school garden on the new property which was recently added to the school campus.
