The White Hatter 1

The White Hatter presentation, arranged for all of Brentwood’s new students, was about the dangers of social media and how to be a good digital citizen. The speaker, retired Police Officer Darren Laur, encouraged the students to be nice to each other and help to stop bullying.  He also made clear that anything each of us posts on social media can come back and affect us, and it can be seen in real world cases of teens committing suicide because of their own reckless actions on social media. The main idea presented in the talk was how our actions on social media could hurt others or ourselves. It was a sobering and entertaining session. Bronte G, Hope ‘19
