On Sunday September 26, nearly every Brentwood student attended a day trip to Victoria - our first in two years. Students and staff were thrilled at the opportunity to visit Victoria as a school to shop, eat and enjoy the wonder of the lower Vancouver Island. The houses left at slightly staggered times, but all students were able to spend an enjoyable four hours in Vic. Most students took advantage of endless shopping opportunities from buying posters and small items all the way up to nice clothing and accessories. Cameron M, Whittall ‘22 and Lucca P, Whittall ‘22 said “These Arc’teryx jackets were definitely worth it. We’re excited to stay warm while looking good this fall.” Owen S, Whittall ‘22 who picked up a hefty number of album covers from “Urban Art”, an art/poster store, added “I can't wait to hang up five pictures of Drake on my wall. He really is one of the greatest of all time.” Owen also enjoyed quite a bit of Fatburger ordering a whopping extra large Oreo chocolate milkshake as it is bulking season here on campus.
Other students enjoyed a variety of things from taking photos with monuments to visiting places that don’t exist in their country of origin. The Victoria trip - “Vic Trip” as members of Brentwood like to refer to it - is an essential part of the year. It us the chance to get off campus and venture into places we’ve never seen before in Victoria. We were unable to Vic Trip last year due to COVID-19, but vaccination passports gave us the chance to experience endless ways to have fun in Victoria. We are extremely grateful for the school and the citizens of BC to be progressing with vaccinations at such a rapid pace and are thankful for Mr Sullivan and his COVID team for keeping us healthy and safe so we can enjoy opportunities like this.
Brentwood looks forward to future Vic Trips and other great activities the school provides and we are prepared to attend them in health and safety.
