The Phantom is Cast

After an intense nail biting month for the actors and directors, the principals for this year’s musical, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of The Opera, have finally been selected.  In this play the actors will “sing-through" the entire show and since the story will be told through singing rather than dialogue,  the student performers had to go  through a comprehensive and rigorous selection process which included testing and retesting their vocal ranges as well as their acting skills. We congratulate the following 10 principals: Davin K as The Phantom, Maggie D as Christine Daae, Daniel H as Raoul, Vicomte de Chagny, Hannah W as Carlotta Giudicelli, Alex M as Ubaldo Piangi, Joel W as Monsieur Firmin, Toby G as Monsieur Andre, Min K as Madame Giry, Charlotte W as Meg Giry, Gavin S as Joseph Buquet.

In addition to the principals, there are more than 20 smaller acting and singing solo roles for students; including a very busy Corps de Ballet of eight dancers who require strong classical training to qualify. The larger chorus of 40 has three wonderful production numbers that include the famous "Masquerade" and from them we have selected a smaller chorus of eight who will be performing in the scenes from operas within the larger play, such as "Il Muto" and "Don Juan Triumphant".

Mrs. Widenmaier as Director and Producer, Mr. Newns as Music Director, Ms. Blake as Choreographer and Mr. Armitage as Technical Director are very excited about this production and look forward to working with this very talented cast.
