In early March 2011, the international musical phenomenon "The Phantom of the Opera" by Andrew Lloyd Webber is coming to the Cowichan Valley.  Brentwood College School has obtained the licensing rights for the full production which was just released to high schools and colleges on June 3.
"Andrew's passion for bringing young people into the musical theatre is so deeply felt" says Rogers and Hammerstein president Ted Chapin, "that he has authorized us to release Phantom to schools even while it continues to thrive on Broadway and all over the globe. We always believed that school performances of Phantom would bring out the best in each and every student."
The longest running musical on Broadway, winner of seven Tony awards, the Phantom has been seen by by over 100 million people in 144 cities in 27 countries.
Brentwood is thrilled to be able to give our musical theatre students this one-in-a-lifetime educational experience, and the Valley audiences such a experience close to home. Tickets will go on sale online at www.tgb.brentwood.bc.ca in December in time for Christmas presents.
