Every Spring, Brentwood has the honour of hosting one of the most competitive, entertaining and, most importantly, fun international high school rowing regattas in the world. The preparation for this event is a matter which our school does not take lightly. Whether you are a part of our well respected rowing team, a staff member, or a student, many long hours of dedication and hard work go into making this wonderful event possible.  Not only is this a chance for the rowers to race and put their training to the test, but it is also a chance to grow and build connections within both the local, and international communities for all members of our Brentwood family. “Even though I am not a part of the rowing team, this school event is a really great place to bring people together” said Willemijn P, Alex ‘19. The Brentwood student body is extremely proud to take part in this wonderful event. Whether the help is shown by volunteering, taking part in running the many concession stands produced by our Entrepreneurship classes, or going on the water to race, we take pride in this wonderful event and our community. The Brentwood rowing community is filled with individuals that have extreme determination, amazing work ethic, as well as very courteous decorum at all of their races and regattas. For months on end the school observes their peers waking up for their 5:00 am practices and admires how much work is put into this pristine sport. “As regatta comes along you can really see the intensity and work ethic of the athletes come out”- Amber G, Mack ‘18. Their love for the water and admiration for the sport itself is so clear to those who have the honour of watching this wonderful event. With multiple, races per day, regardless of the final results, you will see these students with a smile on their faces and joy in their eyes because they are finally able to see how all of their hard work was well worth this amazing experience.  So, when this Regatta takes place on April 27th to April 29th, come see what our community has to offer and witness the Brentwood pride that not only takes place upon the duration of this weekend, but takes place the whole year round.  Hannah V, Mackenzie ‘19
