Everyone is currently off enjoying themselves on a well-deserved and much-needed mental and physical break from the stresses of school. Whether they are off enjoying warm weather elsewhere, back home with friends and family, or shopping up a storm, I think it is safe to say that everyone is simply enjoying relaxing.

Freya P, Hope ‘21 has told me, “I am really enjoying my break so far and have had the chance to hang out with friends from Brentwood outside of school. From ice-skating to just spending time together, it has been a great opportunity to relax and prepare myself for my classes when I return!”

Aside from getting to know our friends from Brentwood outside of the school environment, students are able to reconnect with old friends and people from home or even to stay with and get to know a host family and their friends! Besides hanging around other people, there has been the opportunity to catch up on reading, eat home-cooked meals, and have extensive sleep-ins.

When I asked Michael W, Privett ‘21 for a quote on what he has done over the break he responded, “But I haven’t done anything.” I would almost wish the same for myself with how much I have already done!

“Break has been so much fun and I have missed being home a lot” are the words of Sasha I, Allard ‘21. The feeling is definitely mutual throughout the entire population of the school but there is no question, however, that everyone will be yearning to come back to their second home by the time the break is over. Personally, I know I will be happy to see all of my friends and favorite teachers again!

We are all so excited to share our experiences that have happened over the break and to catch each other up on the one week this year where we haven’t been together!
