The Eranos Symposium

On Friday evening students were invited to the Bunch to witness Mr. McCarthy, Mr. Neufeld, & Mr. Luna battle it out on the topic: Does the Universe Have a Purpose. Mr. McCarthy gave a scientific speech that had all cat lovers laughing and Mr. Neufeld taught us about religion and knowledge through a sadistic story about a child’s determination to believe in his sacred Santa Clause. Mr. Luna’s position on the topic was nicely described by Liam K, as “always somewhere in the middle.” Mr. Luna gave a great speech about desire and doubt and how slightly graphic art could describe the purpose of the universe. The night was spectacular, and everyone was relieved to not be in the splash zone for when Mr. Luna specifically put emphasis on P-urpose. The Eranos Symposium was optimum!
