We invite you to join us for this year's Gala celebration set as a Fun-D-Raiser for the bard@brentwood at 6 p.m. on Thursday 9th July. From the moment you arrive at the plaza beside the T. Gil Bunch Centre for the Performing Arts, you will find yourself amidst the Baptista family wedding celebration. This event is staged in 1950’s Italy, complete with Italian wedding traditions. Guests will sip champagne and other wines, and savour delectable finger food served by the “wedding party and family” attired in the style of the era. Be part of the traditional Italian wedding dance (the Tarantella), dance with the bride or groom, and enjoy the live entertainment. After the wedding celebrations, the evening continues with the premiere of “The Taming of the Shrew” at 7:30 p.m. During intermission, the party carries on with chocolate port, gourmet coffee, and dessert. The 2009 Gala Fun-D-Raiser is destined to join the ranks of social events to be remembered.  Get into the spirit completely and, if you like, come in appropriate wedding attire! Don’t miss the evening’s fun, theater, food, drink, and camaraderie. For more information regarding tickets and the run of the show, see http://bard.brentwood.bc.ca/.
