The 15th Annual BCS Stock Market Challenge
Ladies and Gentlemen, this is the announcement I know you have all been waiting for – no, it is not a sporting event, but it is indeed an extremely competitive contest – a contest of skill, savvy and maybe even a little luck!
I am here to announce the winners of The 15th Annual Brentwood College Virtual Stock Market Challenge.
Students were given $100,000 to invest over a 3 month period. It was another year of ecstatic gains, tempered by agonizing losses – there were dances of delirious celebration and bouts of hysterical sobbing – the stock market, my students will tell you, is an emotional place.
But when the dust settled and the smoke cleared, three brave traders stood above the rest. In third place, with a return of 7.4%, Grady Etherington. In second place, with a return of 11.1%, Nick Cave. And in first place, with a final return of 18.1%, Evan Cowan.
