Tennis Strikes Gold at Icebreaker Classic
Grade 11 student Conrad A, playing some of the best tennis of his career, put together three solid matches to win the U18 Boys singles title at the BC Tennis Icebreaker Classic held at the Vancouver Lawn Tennis and Badminton Club this past weekend. Conrad survived a tough first round match against a Mexican International student winning 6-4, 7-5. He gained momentum as the tournament progressed and defeated his next two opponents 6-2, 6-1, and 6-2, 6-2.
Also attending the tournament in the extremely competitive Boys U16 category were Nick M, Inigo O, and Santiago G. All three competed well but were in tough against the #1 seed, the #3 seed, and the eventual finalist. All of the members of the tennis program are practicing hard and competing at winter tournaments in preparation for another strong, third term competitive season.
