Staff Band Serves Up Java
The staff band of Mr. Newns, piano; Mr. Johnston, lead guitar; Mrs. Jackson, vocals; Mr. Armitage, drums, Mr. Rodrigues, vocals, and Mr. Griffiths, bass guitar, performed live during Thursday’s assembly before an enthusiastic and appreciative audience earning a standing ovation.
The musicians, whose daytime responsibilities include Director of Music, Admissions Director, math teacher, field hockey coach, Technical Director of the Bunch Centre, Director of University Counselling, physics teacher, rugby coach and IT wizard, belted out Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick in the Wall” from its 1979 hit album “The Wall” which, dear reader, this reporter remembers fondly from his 16th summer.
There will be more than twenty student acts performing at the school’s annual Java Hut this Saturday night.
They don’t need no thought control!
