Staff Appreciation Lunch

26 February 2018

Kindness Week is in full effect and the SAC has put its efforts towards showing our appreciation for all the hard work that the Brentwood staff do.  Earlier in the week we had prepared gift baskets made up of delicious snacks for all the major groups within the staff such as Food Services, Transportation, and Advancement. We delivered these baskets Friday morning to the surprise, shock, and thanks of those that received them. This was just the first half of what we had planned to truly express how thankful we are for all the work they do each and every day.  Our second act of thanks was revealed as the staff trickled into Crooks Hall for lunch. We had the tables set and ready for the staff to be seated. We placed the special lunch, consisting of steak and potatoes, salad, grilled vegetables, and sparkling apple juice on the table for all to enjoy. All we hoped for was that this small gesture of our appreciation would remind the staff that, although we may not always express our thanks, we value their work more than they may know. Mr Ganley raved “It was a terrific meal and very much appreciated. We don’t expect something like this to happen, but it certainly is special when it does.”  On behalf of the SAC and the rest of the student body, I would like to reiterate how thankful we are for all of the staff at Brentwood. Glory C, Mack ‘18 described how “When you consider all that the staff does, it often goes underappreciated, so we did this to show a small portion of the thanks we feel. Many of the things they do to make our lives easier may go unnoticed, but we are so grateful for everything they do. We hope that this small action of thanks is able to convey our gratitude.”  Kindness Week continues! Megan A, Alex ‘18
