St. David’s Day

9 March 2018
Bud Patel, Head of School
On March 1st, the campus was filled with daffodils and leeks. The Welsh flag was flying high and a red rugby jersey circled the campus. Every March 1st, Mr. Dewi Griffiths, a man of Welsh heritage, brings his cultural celebration to his students and to campus. He is not shy about his pride – instead embracing it with a full heart. Celebrating St. David’s Day, like Diwali in October or the Day of Dead in September or Chinese New Year in February speaks to place “where the world comes to school”, and frankly, a place that the world needs even more. As tribalism and nationalism run their course across the globe, Brentwood embraces all comers with two simple criteria. 1. Do your best. 2. Be kind. Commit to these two elements and Brentwood presents a platform for all to shine. Mr. Griffiths’ magical journey around campus with daffodils and leaks in hand is just one of a hundred stories that make this a special place to learn, work and live. De Manu In Manum
