Spring Captains

Brentwood is a private day and boarding school located on Vancouver Island. The Captains of our senior sports brought their teams to Provincials.

The Captains of our senior sports were recognized in Assembly last Thursday for their efforts in leading their teams. Captains are elected leadership positions within our sports and our arts programmes, and what leadership it has been!


Deirdre H and Cam Y will lead the rowers to St. Catharines next week for the CRRSA Championships. Races run Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, June 3, 4 and 5, on Martindale Pond. See www.cssrarowing.ca for details.


Kate P and the Sr. Girls Soccer team have qualified for the provincial championships. The tournament will take place at the Burnaby Sports Center fields from Thursday, June 2 to Saturday, June 4. To read more, please see the Victoria Citizen: bit.ly/mHonVP


Kirsty M and Andrew L, with the Sr. Girls and Boys Tennis teams, have qualified for the 2011 AA Provincial Tennis Championships which will occur at Queen Elizabeth Park in Vancouver from Thursday May 26 to Saturday May 28. This was also noted in the Victoria Times Colonist: bit.ly/layBrn


Dan R and Martina E also lead the Sr. Boys and Girls Rugby teams to the provincials. Brentwood is hosting the AA and AAA Girls’ Rugby championships from Thursday May 26 to Saturday May 28. The girls’ first game is Thursday afternoon at 2:45pm. Please read more in the Citizen News: bit.ly/m8pGEi

The Boys’ Rugby team opens against Southridge this Saturday, May 28 at 11:30am. The game will be played at Oak Bay SS in Victoria. The tournament continues on Wednesday, June 1, Thursday, June 2 and Saturday, June 4 at the Rotary Stadium in Abbotsford. For details see bit.ly/ksMEcp
