This past Saturday was the finale of the 10 day long Spirit Week hosted by the SAC (Student Activities Council).  Students were able to don their red and black apparel to classes, in a clear display of Brentwood Pride. Later in the afternoon we were all treated to a tailgate party in the cafeteria. The kitchen staff produced an incredible variety of classic pre-game dishes such as chicken wings and sliders.  The day culminated with the Senior Boys Basketball Countdown to Playoffs Tournament final, in which Brentwood faced off against Shawnigan. The age-old rivalry always produces an entertaining game no matter the outcome. The stands were filled with fans supporting our team, and Brentwood came away with a convincing 72-41 win.  Although the game was exciting, it was not the only thing we were there to watch. At halftime the SAC held the ‘almost ½ court shot’ competition which was a fundraiser for the Nicaragua and Swaziland Service trips that will be happening next month during Spring Break. Nadia K, Will H, Nik C, Michael T, and Marquita Z all had two chances to make the shot, and with the opportunity to win a bucket full of exclusive Spirit Week swag or a dinner with Bruno C (the Captain of the Boys Basketball team): the pressure was on. This pressure must have been too high for these five students as all of them missed their chance for eternal Brentwood glory.  It was an exciting end to a week filled with events that the whole school was able to enjoy and get involved with. Thank you to Mrs McLean and all of the SAC members who put in the hours to make this week possible, and a special thanks to the kitchen staff for producing such amazing meals all week long.  Megan A, Alex ‘18
