Brentwood provided the venue for the senior girls Independent Schools Association annual tournament on Friday and Saturday. The grounds crew had the fields in superb condition, which was particularly amazing given their use as parking lots the week previously when hosting the Brentwood Regatta. Brentwood started the tournament smartly with a 1-0 win over Shawnigan Lake School. The second game of the day featured a 2-1 come-from-behind win over Collingwood with perhaps the best goal of the year seeing Emma Titley fire a fierce header in from a nicely delivered cross via Marta Bakowska-Mathews. In the last game of the day, Brentwood dropped a well-contested match 1-0 to Crofton House (who featured in the gold medal final the following day). The last game of Brentwood's round-robin play saw Southridge coming out on top 2-0. The final game that gave Brentwood a 5th-place finish, was another close 2-1 victory over York House. The tournament was well organized and saw some fine football.
