Soccer: Junior Girls draw at Shawnigan Lake School

The Junior Girls took on Shawnigan Lake School yesterday and, despite numerous scoring chances, had to settle for a scoreless draw during regular time. Good build-up and a stingy defence gave Brentwood a decided edge in the play but the Shawnigan goalkeeper was solid and prevented our players from taking advantage of the territorial domination. League rules dictate that there must be a penalty shootout to determine playoff spots, should two teams have identical records at the end of the season. It took a total of twelve shots to finally settle the draw with Shawnigan coming out on top. Mairead McCormack and Marta Bakowska-Mathews converted from the spot. Brentwood hopes that the return match slated for April 18th will produce a different result!
