Soccer Earns ISA Silver

9 May 2011

The Senior Girls’ soccer team picked up silver medals at the Independent Schools Association annual tournament hosted by Saint Michaels this past weekend. Wins over Westpoint Grey, then SMUS, and Crofton House in the semi-final, vaulted the girls into the final against GNS where GNS prevailed.

Goals came from Phoebe B, Katie C, Shelby M (a header), Tessa M, Maddy A, and Kate P. Solid goaltending by Spencer M (saving a breakaway against SMU was one of the finest examples), paired with some gritty defensive work, made us difficult to break down, and our excellent work ethic on the field created the chances to score.

The team travels to the Comox Valley for the North Islands playoffs (May 9/10) and hopes to move on to the Island Tournament hosted by Brentwood May16/17.
