As the end of 2018 approached, Brentwood’s beloved traditions continued, one of them being the annual Snowball. On Saturday December 8, our Crooks Hall was transformed into a Winter Wonderland for the formal occasion. The night was filled with good food, good company, and a magic show to end it off.  The night began with the exchange of gifts, corsages, and boutineers between dates and friends. Draperies, snowflakes, and Christmas balls lined the dining hall as the students arrived for the formal occasion. A Christmas tree decorated from bottom to the top, which was just shy of the dining hall’s ceiling, was a major standout to create the festive feeling. Maya J, Hope 19 said “The dining hall looked beautiful. It looked like a winter wonderland.”  Students created tables with their dates and friends, where they enjoyed a beautiful buffet meal prepared by the kitchen staff. After the meals, dessert trays were brought around to each table for the students to enjoy. Photo booths, which included a Santa’s sleigh and a Christmas tree, were set up in the McNeill Centre where photographers captured the memories of the night. The success of the night would not be possible without the work of parent volunteers who bussed the students’ tables, helped create the centre pieces, and help set up the dining hall for the night. Member of the grad council, Bronte G stated “The parents were a huge help in making the dining hall look as beautiful as it was.” And never forget about the herculean efforts of Mrs Martin and the maintenance team. At the end of the meal and after many photos, students were ushered into the Killy Theatre for a magic show to end the memorable evening. The show was memorable to say the least. A successful Snowball was the perfect end to term one, and a perfect start to the holiday season. Nadia K, Hope ‘19
