Sixpeat Island Title
The Senior A Girls Volleyball team defended its Island Championship title this weekend and qualified for the provincial championships for the sixth consecutive time. The team posted a flawless 12-0 win/loss record with round robin wins over Kwalikum (25-15, 25-14), SMUS (25-5, 25-8) and Woodlands (25-4, 25-8). In the semifinals the girls defeated Woodlands again in the best of five semifinal (25-12, 25-15, 25-10).
In the final Brentwood faced an undefeated and pumped up Lambrick Park squad (and their noisy fans) and won in spectacular fashion 25-22, 25-20, 25-18. Shelby M. and Indre S. were named to the all-tournament team with Stephanie T.winning the Most Valuable Player honours. The team would like to thank Mr. Warner and the Junior A Girls Volleyball team, Mr. Griffiths, and their parents for braving the winter elements to come and support them in the final match. Up next for the team is the provincial championship Dec. 1-3 in Kamloops.
