Senior Volleyball Spikes Again
The Senior B Girls Volleyball team participated in the Duncan Christian/Cowichan Secondary Invitational Tournament this past weekend. Day one action saw the team compete against Gulf Islands, Langley Christian (eventual tournament winners) and Nanaimo Christian. After some very close matches, we placed 4th in our pool sending us to the consolation side of the draw for Saturday's play.
This tenacious team came out determined to win matches on Saturday morning and started by defeating Lions Gate in two sets, 25-23 and 25-14. This advanced us to the semi-final match against Lake Cowichan. It was an exciting match with BCS winning 25-18, 23-25 and 15-9 sending us to the consolation final! We ended the tournament with our heads held high as we placed 2nd to Ladysmith.
Strong performances were put in by right side player, Youngeun L (named to the tournament all-star team) setter and Captain, Jess H, power hitter Pauline L, and power hitter and passing specialist, Shannon M.
