Last Friday, May 13th, the Brentwood Tennis team competed for one of the two Island berths in order to advance to the provincials in Vancouver later in the month. Brentwood won its first two round robin matches, against Esquimalt 9-2 and Lambrick 10-1.

With the two wins in our pool, we faced Shawnigan in the semi finals. For the girls, Shawnigan would be the toughest competition of the day. Even though some games were very close, Brentwood was able to take the win 10-1.

Even though the victory over Shawnigan confirmed the team a spot at provincials, we still had to play for the top seed. In the finals, we played St. Michaels. With everyone at the top of their game, we were able to win all 11 matches. These wins came from Mariana P, Indre S, Amanda M, Kirsty M, Nat T, Connor S, Andrew L, Raffy G, Andjela S, Conrad A, Kelly R, Tara V, Nicole P, Frankie P, Benson C, Eric DP, John B and Henryk S.

The team will travel to Vancouver to compete in the AA Tennis provincials May 26th-28th. Last year we were able to place 2nd, but this year the team is hoping to come back with the championship title.
