Under the season’s first sunny skies Thursday afternoon the Senior Girls Soccer team played Shawnigan in a exhibition game that resulted in a tough 1-2 loss. With support from students, parents, and faculty families (including faculty children such as Seb S, Privett '30 & Beatrix W, Mackenzie ‘33) the girls fought to their best ability.

Breaking lines, closing the curtain, and playing back were all new techniques and strategies the girls were experimenting with. After a early goal for Shawnigan, Reece F, Allard ‘19  came back and earned a well-deserved goal for Brentwood. 1-1. “Reece and then Morgan did an amazing job but came just short hitting the crossbar late in the first and second half” observed striker Chidinma A, Alex ‘17.

Although Brentwood did not take away a win, the girls held their own and are looking forward to a positive and successful season. The girls play their next exhibition game against Cowichan in Duncan on Tuesday, April 4.
