Senior Soccer Splits Pair

20 March 2013
The Senior Girls Soccer team travelled to Courtney to participate in the preseason Icebreaker Tournament. Playing two games in the same day, the team took on Carhi from Campbell River in the first tilt. Carhi is always strong and this year was no different with the opposition coming out on top 2-0. Our keeper Kendra S made some excellent saves to keep the score close.
Our second game against the hosts, Mark Isfeld, saw Brentwood play with a little more steel and we also found our shooting boots. A 4-3 win came as a result from goals from three different players: Meaghan B, Eryn W & Erin M. Again our keeper came up big when called upon. With a number of players unavailable due to their commitments to the musical performance, we called up two juniors to bolster our ranks. Both Avi S and Lauren H gave a good account of themselves.
The tournament gave us some valuable playing time in a competitive environment and allowed the coaches to play with different formations. This experience should prove helpful later in league action.
Mr. Gord Horth, Coach
