Senior Soccer Opens Season 1

3 March 2016

Earlier today a group of freshly put together senior soccer players headed down to Victoria to play their season opener against St. Michael’s University School. The sun had come out brightly shining on the late winter day and the girls, who had never played together before, were ready to take on the experienced and talented SMUS team. As the girls took the pitch and the game began, the close battle between the two teams commenced. There was chance after chance on both sides, and then SMUS opened the scoring late in the first half. Despite battling back as hard as the team could, Brentwood could not even the scoring and the game finished at a close 1-0 loss. The girls, however, are looking forward to training and working hard this season and continuing to grow as a team.  A shoutout to Nairee P, Allard ‘18 and Vanessa C, Allard ‘17, for some great defensive work on the back line, without which the score could have been a bit more lopsided.  The Senior squad is looking forward to their upcoming home game this Tuesday afternoon against our strong local rivals Frances Kelsey.  Gina B, Mackenzie ‘17
