This week at the Islands, the Brentwood faced the best teams in the south, central, and northern divisions. The first game was against Gulf Islands who had not lost a game all season. While the Brentwood girls started slow, we gained some second half momentum and lost a narrow 2-1 decision, with Kirsten C scoring. Playing the host team of St. Michael's University School, we continued to play some good soccer but couldn’t keep up the pace with a strong side  SMUS took the game 3-1, with Kate P providing the tally. The last team we faced was Mark Isfeld from the northern division, and it was the most exciting of the matches. Brentwood was losing 2-0 ( it could have been 3-0 but Megan G saved a penalty shot), until the last 10 minutes of the match when we went on a determined goal scoring spree that netted three goals in quick succession handing Brentwood the dramatic come from behind win. Mairead M, Georgia L, and Shelby M supplied the goals. Closing out the competitive season on a win at the Islands was rewarding but the determination and commitment by the team to press on till the last whistle was inspirational and a testimony to the spirit shown by the team throughout the season. Well done ladies.
