Senior Soccer: boys place well at ISA tournament
On the final day of the tournament, the team finished 2nd in their 5-team pool on the strength of a 5-1 win over a Shawnigan Lake School "B" side. Playing some fluid soccer, the team enjoyed a hat-trick contribution from Jaemok Lee, and singles from Paul Bosco and Nick Philippson. The 3rd-4th place deciding game saw Brentwood on the losing end of a 2-1 match with GlenLyon Norfolk School. Captain Nick Philippson complimented the overall team effort and committment shown through the tournament. The goaltending was very steady, and at times inspirational; defenders took a no-nonsense approach to clearing dangerous balls; midfielders won the bulk of the 50/50 balls and laid on probing passes; and the forwards converted their chances on goal. The regular season commences September 25th when the team hopes to build on the success experienced at the ISA tournament.
