Despite a nervous start to this year's Provincial semi-final clash with defending champions Rockridge High School, the Brentwood 1st XV earned the right to compete in the final with a 24-0 win. The first half saw Brentwood squander a few scoring opportunities through dropped passes. Nonetheless, the flow of play was decidedly Brentwood's whose confidence grew through a rock-solid defence that, time and time again, shut down any Rockridge attack. After a long period of sustained pressure, punctuated by a beautiful try in the corner by Mike Shenker, the anxiety eased. The second half saw a calmer, more determined Brentwood side score another 19 unanswered points and unlock the door to the final. Thus, high noon on Saturday (31st May) is the final hour for this year's season. The boys are more determined than ever to bring home the coveted prize of a B.C. championship banner. Robert Bateman from Abotsford will be the adversary on the day who won their hard-fought semi-final over Hugh McRoberts from Richmond.
