Over the past 3 weeks the Girls Rugby team has travelled on quite a steep learning curve. After two easily-won games at the beginning of the season, the challenging game against Shawnigan was a welcome change. Although the outcome was not ideal, the hard-fought loss showed the girls which areas needed improvement. With the Brentwood side offering more than 10 turnovers during the game, the deserving team walked away with the win.  The game against Shawnigan was able to show weaknesses that playing less experienced teams did not make evident. With this new knowledge the girls will be preparing to take the Island Championship title in the upcoming tournament.  The Tuesday after the Shawnigan game, the girls went to the SLS to watch the Canadian and American women's national teams play each other. The intensity of the game was acknowledge by the entire crowd. With hard-fought 40 minute halves, the women showed the girls what they should strive for on and off the field. The pride in their respective teams and support of their players while continuing to fight an intense battle was astonishing.  With the wisdom gained from these experiences the girls hope to pursue the rest of the season with a new passion and more rugby intelligence in all areas.
