Senior Girls Rugby: Season Starts Today

Friday, March 07, 2008 - By: Marius Felix

The senior girls rugby program begins a new season this week, as the team plays three "mini-games" in the annual Joe McGeachy Rugby Tournament, hosted by Cowichan High School. A mixture of veterans and new players are looking to play an expansive, fast-paced brand of running rugby. The program hopes to continue to make its mark in the "AA" ranks. Three years ago, the fledgling program captured the "Tier Two" or development section at the Provincial Championships, a feat the school repeated the following year. Last year, Brentwood competed, with great results, in the competitive section of the league, and hope to improve their showing this season.
