Senior Girls Open Season

Tuesday saw the Senior Girls' rugby team open its 2011 season against Vanier SS from Courtenay in brisk sunny conditions. Vanier was a physical side which moved the ball well and supported runners superbly. The Brentwood team showed lots of individual commitment and grit but our cohesion was lacking. Dani R, Nicole R and Angie W tackled well and ran with purpose but lacked the support to keep attacks going. The pack scrummed effectively but was unable to ruck well enough to allow us any control of the ball. Dani, Martina E and Tyler C scored fine tries but the 34-15 result was a reflection of Vanier's better team play. Mr. Jim Burrows, Coach
