Senior Girls Impress at Ogilvie

19 January 2016
Petra J, Mack '16
It was a weekend of intensity; it was a weekend of fun.  In the second annual Brentwood Ogilvie Tournament, the Senior Girls Basketball team fought hard to come away with a fourth place finish. In their first game versus WPGA, Brentwood dominated with a 70-43 win. Our top scorer was Chidinma A with 16 points.  Want to throw these girls off their game? You will have to try your best. Late in the game against Dover Bay, when Monica S fell injured on the court and all the subs sat fouled out on the bench, there was only one option. The four remaining girls stepped up for the final minutes of the game, one man down. Flavie J had a personal record of 17 points. Coach Warner was impressed with the team’s toughness and never-say-die mentality.  In the final game of their tournament play, the girls had some phenomenal outside shooting. Petra J put up 27 points including five three pointers. Through foul trouble and injury, the girls showed grit until the end of the tournament.  Riding on the success of the weekend, the girls are ready to head up island to Mark Isfeld for a competitive tournament this coming weekend.
