Senior Girls Hoops

Prior to departing for Winter Break, the Senior Girls Basketball team had December 11th circled on their calendars. That evening, we faced our familiar foes, Shawnigan Lake School. We took a commanding lead early on, but as fatigue and foul trouble began to plague us, Shawnigan crept back into the game. Our determination enabled us to come out with a narrow 48-46 win.

This past weekend, we hosted the Brentwood Ogilvie Invitational Tournament. Unfortunately, our impressive undefeated run ended with us falling 68-55 to the eventual 3rd place team, Bodwell. After defeating Gulf Islands, fate had its way as we faced our friends from up the road once again. This time around, the Shawnigan squad got the best of us as we fell in a nail biter, 44-47.

We finished 6th and the quick turn around from Winter Break definitely contributed to our lack of jump to start the new year, but with our heads held high, we look to forward to competing in the Victoria Police Tournament next weekend!
