Senior Girls Field Hockey: 1st XI Victorious

Monday, October 06, 2008 - By: alanna martin

The Sr. Girl's 1st XI field hockey team are in first place in the North Island league after beating Shawnigan 3 - 0 in front of the home crowd.  Many Brentwood supporters lined the sidelines and Shawnigan sent down some supporters to make this a true showcase event.  The teams were greeted with torential rain,  only to have the sun peak through the clouds to give them hope of nice weather to come.  Such was not the case as the strong winds took over.  Brentwood was not to be distracted from the task at hand and maintained a strong focus on the ball.  Feeding off the support of the crowd, the girls were solid offensively and defensively.    Goaltender, Renata Morris, was rarely tested as Sarah Barber, Rachelle Young and Emma Head were able to put the ball in the back of the Shawnigan net.  The girls will next see action Tuesday, Oct. 7th  when they meet Mark R. Isfeld at 2:30 pm at home.
